A Claremore teacher and resident of Inola named Carrie Dickerson felt the risks far outweighed the promise of nicer schools and cheaper utility bills and became determined to stop Black Fox. PSO adopted the name Black Fox for the proposed nuclear plant, and promised thousands of jobs and an influx of tax dollars. In 1973, Public Service Company of Oklahoma announced that it would be constructing two nuclear power reactors a few miles from the town of Inola, a Cherokee word meaning “black fox”. Music from the Movement to Stop Black Fox Nuclear Power Plant. No documents were recovered from her chrashed car.ĭeCou and LaMountain’s other recorded anti-nuclear track, Seabrook Song, turned up on their 1979 ' Down Here At Earth' album. While driving to meet with a New York Times journalist and an official of her union's national office, she died in a car crash under unclear circumstances. After testifying to the Atomic Energy Commission about her concerns about corporate practices related to health and safety in a nuclear facility, she was found to have plutonium contamination on her person and in her home. She worked at the Kerr-McGee Cimarron Fuel Fabrication Site in Oklahoma, making plutonium pellets, and became the first woman on the union's negotiating team. Karen Gay Silkwood (Febru– November 13, 1974) was an American chemical technician and labor union activist. Released in the wake of the Seabrook May 1977 massive civil disobedience actions, Pat de Cou & Tex la Mountain were two of the 1414 people arrested and prisoned for two weeks. But it did boost the morale of the people who were doggedly battling P.G. Contrary to what some old friends from the Dawn Club and Hamhone Kelly days thought, this record did not win the Bodega Battle. Watters in 1973: "This LP was originally recorded ten years ago during the long struggle over the Pacific Gas and Electric Company's plans to build a nuclear power plant in Sonoma County, California. It was the birth of the US-antinuclear movement. In 1964 Pacific Gas & Electric withdrew its application and canceled plans for the plant Northern California Association to Preserve Bodega Head and Harbor was the local group oppossing the nuclear reactor plans and well knwon jazz musiscian Lu Watters joined and played some benefit concerts for the group. The proposal was controversial and conflict with local citizens began in 1958. The album was produced by the band - singer/guitarist Bellamy, bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard - with mixing on eight tracks by Grammy-winner Serban Ghenea, additional mixing on “Won’t Stand Down” by Dan Lancaster and Alex von Korff (“Kill or Be Killed”).Pacific Gas & Electric planned to build the first commercially viable nuclear power plant in the US at Bodega Bay, California, a fishing village fifty miles north of San Francisco. We are not just coerced, we are herded, frightened and corralled to produce a daily ‘2 minutes of hate’ against an out-group of their choosing and to turn a blind eye to our own internal voice of reason & compassion. They sell us comforting myths, telling us only they can explain reality while simultaneously diminishing our freedom, autonomy and independent thought. Gangs, governments, demagogues, social media algorithms & religions seduce us during times of vulnerability, creating arbitrary rules and distorted ideas for us to comply with. In a statement, the frontman said the song is about, “ submission to authoritarian rules and reassuring untruths to be accepted to an in-group. In the visual, menacing masked figures and citizens with eerie glowing eyes bring the tune’s ominous refrain to life: “Compliance/ We just need your compliance/ You will feel no pain anymore/ And no more defiance/ We just need your compliance,” Bellamy sings. On the heels of the collection’s bombastic, metal-edged first single, “ Won’t Stand Down,” the group also dropped a new song, “Compliance,” an urgent, keyboard-heavy metallic funk tune accompanied by a dystopian Pink Floyd-like video. Then Wall Street can call me and ask me which way I'm trading. I can tell them what their profit will be. That way they won't have to pay so many accountants. Maybe next quarter SWA can call me and ask what their earnings will be for the quarter. I shoulda stuck to collecting my little RR credits, just like I said I would after last quarter.unless there is some stock market trade for guessing LUV's profits dead-on, maybe with odds or something. The stock proceeds to RISE 5% since I sold it the day before.įolks, you are in the virtual presence of a BORN LOSER!!!! SWA comes out with their numbers and get $0.12 a share profit (or $0.10 a share, however you want to call it), not meeting estimates this time. I predict a $0.12 a share profit, less than the $0.13 analyst estimate. SWA came out and hit $0.28 cents per share profit (or even $0.21 if you want to call it that since they didn't "realize" they had as much income as they did), beating estimates by 3 cents. Last quarter I predicted a $0.28 cent per share profit vs the $0.18 analyst estimate. I've said it before, but do the opposite of what I do and you could be very rich someday. That person yells either "gregorygrady just bought a stock folks, EVERYBODY SELL NOW" or he yells "gregorygrady just sold a stock folks, EVERYBODY BUY NOW". I'm now convinced there's somebody over at the NYSE that knows when I buy and sell stocks. Don't they make index funds just for this reason, so you don't have to bang your head on the wall worrying about your individual stocks all the time? I think I'm done trying to predict LUV, and maybe all individual stocks for that matter. Ouch.my head is throbbing from all that banging on the wall. Through investigation of the source code of Golang’s gRPC library, we identified loopyWriter.writeHeader() as an ideal tracepoint. And the function needs to be stable, such that the probes work for a wide range of versions. The arguments ideally should also have simple structure, such that accessing them in BPF code is easy (through manual pointer chasing). The function’s arguments need to contain the information we are interested in. The first step is to identify the function to attach BPF probes. By attaching uprobes to the HTTP/2 library APIs that take clear-text headers as input, the uprobes are able to directly read the header content from application memory before they are compressed with HPACK.Īn earlier blog post on eBPF shows how to implement an uprobe tracer for HTTP applications written in Golang. Specifically, eBPF uprobes address the HPACK issue by directly tracing clear-text data from application memory. So if we can’t properly decode HTTP/2 traffic without knowing the state, what can we do?įortunately, eBPF technology makes it possible for us to probe into HTTP/2 implementation to get the information that we need, without requiring state. Without this information, HTTP/2 tracing loses the majority of its value. For example, :path contains the resource being requested content-type is required to detect gRPC messages, and then apply protobuf parsing and grpc-status is required to determine the success of a gRPC call. These headers are critical information for debugging microservices. HTTP/2 headers are metadata of the HTTP/2 connection. Wireshark therefore cannot decode the corresponding headers. When Wireshark is launched after starting the application, the initial HTTP/2 frames are lost, such that the later encoded bytes bebf have no corresponding entries in the lookup tables. When Wireshark is launched before starting the application, the entire history of the headers are recorded, such that Wireshark can reproduce the exact same header tables. With this knowledge, the results of the Wireshark experiment above can be explained clearly. This makes decoding HTTP/2 headers difficult for tracers that don’t have access to this state. HTTP/2’s HPACK compression algorithm requires that the client and server maintain identical lookup tables to decode the headers. For more info, take a look at the official RFC. When encoding, the clear text headers are replaced by their indices in the table. New header name and value pairs are appended into the table, displacing the old entries if the size of the lookup tables reaches its limit. The figure below illustrates the table maintained by the client and server for response headers. This effect is amplified by the fact that multiple HTTP/2 sessions can multiplex over the same connection. HPACK therefore uses significantly less network bandwidth. Because most of the headers are repetitively transmitted, they are replaced by indices that use much less bytes than clear-text headers. Headers and/or their values are replaced with their indices in these lookup tables. HPACK works by maintaining identical lookup tables at the server and client. It turns out that HTTP/2 uses HPACK to encode & decoder headers, which compresses the headers and greatly improves the efficiency over HTTP 1.x. Why can’t Wireshark decode HTTP/2 headers if it is launched after our gRPC application starts transmitting messages? How can eBPF uprobes solve the HPACK issue?Īs well as share a demo project showing how to trace HTTP/2 messages with eBPF uprobes. Why does HPACK complicate header decoding?.When will Wireshark fail to decode HTTP/2 headers?.This post will answer the following questions This means tools like Wireshark can't always decode the clear text HTTP/2 headers from the network traffic.įortunately, by using eBPF uprobes, it’s possible to trace the traffic before it gets compressed, so that you can actually debug your HTTP/2 (or gRPC) applications. While HPACK helps increase the efficiency of HTTP/2 over HTTP/1, its stateful algorithm sometimes renders typical network tracers ineffective. Unfortunately, tracing HTTP/2 is complicated by HPACK, HTTP/2’s dedicated header compression algorithm. In today's world full of microservices, gaining observability into the messages sent between services is critical to understanding and troubleshooting issues. Principal Engineer New Relic, Founding Engineer Pixie Labs Thank you again for all of you help in trying to troubleshoot this. I sent you an invite to check out one of my test games that I use for checking how things will look. The Journal is the third tab of the Sidebar. I am not using a VPN or in a country that has reported connectivity issues. I can only drag monsters out of the compendium from the module that is associated with the game. (Plus user) But when I check my other games the same issue is happening in all of them. When I delete the monster out of the journal and attempt to drag again from the compendium it has the same result. But in the mean time a local copy of the monster has been added to the Journal as if it was a character. When close the pop up and I click and drag again then the blue avatar image gets added. When I drag a monster from the compendium it opens the monsters sheet but doesnt add the token at first. Compendium Pack Sidebar The Gamemasters view. This might be onto something but I am not quite sure. This collapses all folders, showing only the top-level folders and any Compendium Pack not sorted into a folder. Added Place Door & Place Window to the Undo History, so placement can be undone with Ctrl/Cmd+Z. Added snap-to-grid functionality for Windows and Doors. Re-Implemented panning via the middle mouse button on the VTT. I attempted to use a private browser for both Firefox and Chrome but had the same results. These new Compendiums will have all of the features of the original two Compendiums, including Character Sheet integration and drag and drop functionality. Fixed an issue that prevented smoothly dragging a token through a window or door. Well that is super odd behavior that it is only happening in some users games and not others. This would help rule out that the issue is due to any hardware or internet issue. If you want to shoot me an invite through a PM and promote me to GM status, I could take a look around and see if I can discover the cause of or repeat the behavior. Are you on a VPN, or in a country which has recently or traditionally reported connectivity issues: China, Russia, Germany? 5. This may help in down whether the issue is game or compendium-centric. Since you are a Pro user, see if you can transmogrify in a copy from a game where the compendium drag works. This may help verify if the problem is due to the Compendium refusing to overwrite a problem character. In game where you are are experiencing the issue, verify that you have removed any local copies of the problem monsters. Using a private browsing window, to ensure minimal chance that an extension is causing the behavior. Some more things that you may or may not have tried: 1. Here’s a short list of advantages and disadvantages of radiant floor heating: Pros This is ideal for homes that already use a water heater.Īt New Avenue, we’ve incorporated radiant floor heating in many of our projects. Manifold setup allows varied heating of different zones. Hydronic radiant floors – The most popular and cost-effective type of radiant heating, hydronic radiant floor systems pump water heated from a boiler through tubing laid in a pattern under the floor. This is common in bathrooms but can be ideal for a smaller home or for occasional use. This option is frequently used to retrofit a single room or to add a little luxury. Electric systems are cheaper to install than hydronic systems, but In the long run it would likely be less expensive to use a different fuel source and go with a hydronic system, which is powered by gas. It is cost-effective when used with flooring of significant thermal mass. They are not cost-effective for residential use.Įlectric radiant floors – This type of heating uses electric cables or electrically conductive plastic mats installed beneath the floor covering. There are three types of radiant floor heating:Īir-heated radiant floors – Air cannot hold a large amount of heat, so this type of system is rarely installed. Other options to heat a home include forced-air heating, baseboard heating, gas burners, electric heating elements, space heaters, and passive solar design. This floor can be “charged” during off-peak hours, when electricity is cheaper, and, if the thermal mass is large enough, it can keep a home comfortable all day without further electrical input. The floor becomes a heated surface that directly warms the home. Radiant floor heating turns your floor into a large-area radiator. What do you care?Ĭaption 7, Muñeca Brava - 1 Piloto - Part 7 Play Captionīoludo is a former insult that has been misused so much that it has become something else. ¿Qué te importa?īut she didn't even look at you. So today, used in its negative form, it means “to ignore” and used in its affirmative form it means just the opposite “to pay attention”. Since most of them were new players, and the risk of them tearing the green felt surface of the pool table increased with every kid who arrived, the waiters were given the order “not to give them balls” which was also a way to “ignore” them. The most widely accepted story is that comes from the 1920s in Argentina, when students playing hookey would go to the bars to play pool. The term comes from the old lunfardo and contrary to what most people think it’s not a derogatory term although it’s not a word you’d use in environments of respect such as your workplace, university or at a doctor’s office.Ĭaption 35, Muñeca Brava - 1 Piloto - Part 6 Play Caption Father!Ĭaption 11, Muñeca Brava - 1 Piloto - Part 1 Play Caption No no, no, she hasn't got parents, she's a bastard. They create the most contrast and therefore greatest visual tension by virtue of how dissimilar they are. Despite the development of color models based on the physics of color production, such as RGB and CMY, and those based on human perception, such as Munsell and CIE L*a*b*, the traditional RYB color model (common to most early attempts at codifying color) has persisted among many artists and designers for selecting harmonious colors.Ĭomplementary colors exist opposite each other on the color wheel. Different models yield different pairs of complementary colors and so forth, and the degree of harmony of sets derived from each color space is largely subjective. One difficulty with codifying such patterns is the variety of color spaces and color models that have been developed. Several patterns have been suggested for predicting which sets of colors will be perceived as harmonious. Types The traditional RYB (red–yellow–blue) color wheel, often used for selecting harmonious colors in art The RGB (red–green–blue) color wheel, matching most technological processes, but exhibiting different complementary colors The Munsell color wheel attempts to divide hues into equal perceptual differences. Artists and designers make use of these harmonies in order to achieve certain moods or aesthetics. Color harmony has been a topic of extensive study throughout history, but only since the Renaissance and the Scientific Revolution has it seen extensive codification. These combinations can be of complementary colors, split-complementary colors, color triads, or analogous colors. These combinations create pleasing contrasts and consonances that are said to be harmonious. In color theory, color harmony refers to the property that certain aesthetically pleasing color combinations have. |
